Charity Craig I just read a quote from Walt Disney, “There’s nothing funnier than a human animal.” And nothing could be truer than little Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde from Disney’s Zootopia. Those two (and Flash!!) made us laugh so hard, and they are easily our favorite characters right now. So, of course we had to make a cocktail to honor them, and we picked Judy. This week’s Disney inspired cocktail is called Judy’s Hustle. It’s a yummy fizzy blueberry lemonade that will get you hopping, for sure.
And since this is our kids love Judy too, and were begging for their own Judy’s Hustle, we decided to make a mocktail version, as well, so the whole family can enjoy this deliciousness.
- 1 oz Blue Curacao
- 1 oz Vodka
- 3 oz Lemonade
- 5 oz Lemon Lime Sparkling Water
- Fresh Blueberries, frozen
- Ice
- Lemon peel and mint garnish, optional
- Add ice, Blue Curacao, Vodka, and lemonade to cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously.
- Pour over ice, only filling glass halfway.
- Fill remaining glass with sparkling water. Be sure to leave enough room for blueberries.
- Drop a handful of frozen blueberries on top.
- Garnish with lemon peel badge and mint ears.
- Make sure to freeze your blueberries, because frozen blueberries will float. Non-frozen blueberries will sink to the bottom.
- Sprite or tonic water can be substituted for the sparkling water, but be careful, because it might make the drink too sweet.
- 3 oz Mixed Berry Kool-aid
- 3 oz Lemonade
- Lemon Lime Sparkling water
- Ice
- Fresh blueberries, frozen
- Lemon peel and mint for garnish, optional
- In cocktail shaker, add ice, Kool-aid and lemonade. Shake vigorously.
- Pour over ice. Save room for sparkling water and blueberries.
- Add a splash of sparkling water.
- Add a handful of frozen blueberries.
- Garnish with lemon peel badge and mint ears.
- Enjoy!
- You can substitute sparkling water for Sprite or tonic water, but be careful, because it might make the drink way too sweet!
- Make sure to freeze your blueberries, because they'll just sink to the bottom if not frozen.
